RC deWinter

i am flanked by two lions
and have no idea why
they dog my footsteps
invade my dreams

their names are somewhere between something and nothing

one cat watches in silence
one puts his head in my lap
the watcher is cold
the other not

their names are somewhere between something and nothing

they don’t speak to each other
not even in dreamcode
they hate each other
neither will leave

their names are somewhere between something and nothing

i love both my lions
they protect me from myself
when i want to die
i think of them

their names are somewhere between something and nothing
