The Blind World

Brett Harrington

The fever dream of being
recedes into another:

from vault to vault
gaunt shadows wander
swinging smokeless censers,

droning jagged hymns
in an unknown tongue,

lured on by
a cold gray light:

gleam of sky seen
from beneath
a pane of ice.
