When they come in the day, I wait.
I hope that opulent shadows
have one-night stands on their paths.
When they come at night
I wonder why they leave sunny hints
of the window half-open.
Another fight between us
leaves ghosts wondering
why we can’t be in love with life
as much as we are with death.

She is a full-time teacher, teaching ESL to adults at McGill University, and French at a public elementary school for The Montreal English School Board. She lives in Montreal with her husband and two children.
