Kevin LeMaster
for Marcia 1972-2021
Your spirit emerges from
whiskey amber, broken glass.
the twisted gray metal
frame of your repose
cannot contain your
soul any longer.
those last few minutes,
a mosaic of broken bone
and flesh silhouette the road
like a beautifully injured bird
rising up and flying south
before Winter could arrive, wings
broken over a red blooming sky.
